Manager, Value Chain Outreach and Coalition

Position SummaryThe position is responsible for enhancing the advocacy efforts of the American Chemistry Council (ACC) by engaging and mobilizing allies, downstream users, third parties and other key stakeholders in support of ACC priority issues and programs.
The person would be responsible for increasing coordination with outside groups to expand ACCs influence both in Washington, D.
C.
and in the states.
In addition, this position works directly with our member company facilities representatives to engage in political and grassroots activities.
The position reports directly to the Senior Director, Political Mobilization while working directly with the Director of Stakeholder Engagement & Political Mobilization.
Major Duties and Responsibilities Assists in preparation and implementation of advocacy strategies for downstream and third-party engagement.
Coordinates engagement with third-party groups to identify priorities issues and opportunities to work together.
Maintains and engages a network of downstream users for specific advocacy efforts, including value chain outreach with a focus on key sectors that rely on chemistry, are politically influential and that are likely to engage.
Represents ACC on relevant coalitions, stakeholder groups and panels.
Maintains database of ACC coalitions and stakeholder relationships, including which issues and programs they might support.
Supports outreach to other priority stakeholders, particularly key third-party relationships - e.
g.
, Labor, Fire Services, E-NGOs, Public Health NGOs, etc.
Develops contacts and relationships with identified priority stakeholders.
Develops written communications (e.
g.
activity reports, Action Alerts, presentations, training materials, web content, etc.
) to inform relevant internal and/or external audiences of priority issues as well as program actions and results.
Develops and maintains strong working relationships with relevant ACC staff, member company representatives, and various third party consultants/vendors.
Serves as department liaison to other divisions of the organization.
Identifies, compiles, and distributes relevant reports, as needed.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications/RequirementsRequired Bachelor's degree.
Three years relevant campaign or political experience.
Familiarity with and interest in public policy process and grassroots strategies, tools, and tactics.
Strong organizational skills, with attention to detail and ability to multi-task in order to meet timelines.
Ability to collaborate effectively with multiple stakeholders internally and externally.
Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective working relationships across a range of cultural contexts.
Team player with the ability to identify where support is needed and comfortable delivering an administrative workload where necessary alongside more strategic activities Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
Ability to travel, as needed, within the United States.
Preferred Federal or state candidate campaign or district office work experience.
Corporate or trade association experience.
