Maintenance Supervisor/Tech (Greenhouse)

Job Description



Greenhouse Maintenance:


to be able to perform routine and non-routine skill duties that include but are not limited to the duties and responsibilities listed below.






o Repairs and maintains all PVC plumbing systems.


o Inspects and maintains boilers.


o Repairs overhead doors.


o Repairs plumbing fixtures


o Performs minor welding and cuttingMechanical,


Electrical, and Electronic:


o Troubleshoots, repairs, rebuilds, overhauls, adjusts and maintains all plant mechanical and electrical equipment and systems


o Works with all plant voltages, single phase and three phase


o Installs maintains and repairs electrical panels, transformer, disconnects etc


o Performs daily inspections around the plant checking factory, office, environmental, and protection systems


o Helps maintain files, records, and equipment history


o Performs diversified duties to install, test, diagnose, repair, modify and maintain a wide variety of machine shop and plant equipment including AC and DC controls such as numerical control machining equipment, automatic warehouse equipment, communication, security and alarm systems etc


o Installs electric components


o Interprets schematics and diagrams




o Interfaces with supervisors and peers, communicating necessary information


o Advises supervisors on repair status


o Answers calls for repair


o Makes recommendations and assists on finding substitute parts


o Responds to work area problems


o Responsible for troubleshooting machine, greenhouse, and process issues.


o Willing to work across the different areas and skill sets needed to maintain the facility.


o Promote safety practices in area of responsibility and identify any unsafe work conditions to the supervisor




o Strong English language skills, knowledge of Spanish a big plus.


o Ability to read and understand work orders and other types of reports


o Basic math abilities required including addition, subtraction, division, fractions, decimals, and so on.


o Ability to read and understand work orders and other types of reports


o Ability to analyze and reason problems and issues


Working Conditions & Physical Factors:


o Required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; walk; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear.


o Exposed to moving mechanical parts, machining oils/coolants from handling coated parts and to coolant/oil mists which are below OSHA's permissible levels of exposure.


o Noise level could be loud due to the different machinery being operated (i.e. forklifts, hand tools, machines in other departments) and the testing that occurs.


o Required to work at heights and in high heat environments.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
